Let’s talk Christmas year-round…

Happy Tuesday, lovelies! I think I missed a week, but in my excuse, last Tuesday was Halloween and I just completely forgot because I was in spooky mode. lol But now I’m officially in holiday cheer mode! If I could (my kids won’t let me) I’d totally put up the Christmas tree. Day after Thanksgiving it’s going up. Not a day later!

In my upcoming Christmas novel, it’s set in a fictional town, Sleighville. It’s a small town in Minnesota (because I love my home state!) and it’s special because they celebrate Christmas year-round. Hence the name of the town. hehe It’s also a romantic suspense novel, so the town name has a suspensey element too. It’s fun playing with words and getting multiple meanings.

I decided to switch to a new series because one: I love writing romantic suspense more than anything else. Two: It was getting hard to write about Christmas with the book set during the holidays. I wanted to be able to write something christmassy but not necessarily set during the holidays. Dashing Through the Fear starts at the end of May and goes through the summer months. Fun, right!?! You get a change of scenery but still the holiday cheer. So my question to you is…

If you live in a town that celebrates Christmas year-round, what do you want to see?

To give a small hint of things I did, the Fourth of July rolls around in my story and at the fireworks celebration Santa is there and you can tell him what you want for Christmas. Because why not. lol
